After years living overseas as a foreign service officer with the United States information agency, I have retained an interest in the countries in which I served: Russia, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, and, although not a country, Hong Kong. Now retired from the State Department, I work full-time with the US Census Bureau, responsible for a 36,000 sq mile chunk of central California.Reading, discussion of politics and world events and an irreverent sense of humor pretty much describe my interests.

Meditative, but sometimes irreverent, adventurous and a homebody, generally spontaneous, but usually well-prepared. Can be both reserved and gregarious ... an enigma at times, even to myself.

A positive focus comes from the belief that I'm primarily a spiritual being, and that how l think and treat others does matter. I believe at least part of my purpose is being a kind of behind-the-scenes catalyst.

Making art is important, and a means of focusing and reining in excess energy. I can render photorealistically, in watercolor or pencil, but my passion is detailed cartooning. Also love working on one-of-a-kind fabric pieces.

I can fit myself into nearly any circle, but love the companionship of those who are kind, intelligent and quick-witted, lack guile, and don't take themselves too seriously!

Ideally, I'd like to be done with ego entirely, with no need to define who "I" am, and no roles to play.

I work as a beverage supervisor at a casino. I love my job but I also have 40 cocktail servers who remind me everyday of why I am gay.

I am a bit of a, shall we say, critic of myself. I don't think I have much going for me in the way of looks, but I like to think that I make up for it with my dazzling, flirtatious personality. Well, I've been married once obviously that didn't work out because I'm here. I have 2 great kids that always make me proud. I moved to a town 30 mins. out of Fresno 4 yrs. ago from S. Lake Tahoe area. Grew up in LA/Orange County. Now I have learned to adapt to a small town community. Kind of hard for a city girl but I did it for my kids. I love the outdoors and the water. Hi I just graduated last semester from the Academy of Art in San Francisco with a BA in Illustration and just recently moved back over the winter break.....hmmm I'm going to do my best to make this not sound like a resume or something equally boring. I was raised in the Fresno/Clovis area and while I love parts of the bay area I guess this place is still my home.
So obviously I like to illustrate/draw. I play the guitar, bass and little bit of piano and listen to a lot of albums. I love animals. I have a 22 pound cat that acts more like a dog than a cat. I watch tons of movies/tv seasons on DVD ( Netflix is amazing, is that sad? I don't care )...and play video games when I can.

I hate lairs, i hate players, love girls, and my special man. I work with computers and hope to use that knowledge to enhance my soon to be career as an elementary teacher, which has always been my dream. Well, I guess I will start off by stating that my name is Abbey and that I am 19 years old. I will be attending Fresno City College in January. I keep on switching back and forth in between majors, accounting, teaching, and becoming a Pediatric Nurse. I love and adore kids! I am a very motivated person, not lazy at all unless I have had a really hard day and I want to kick back and relax for the night. My personal opinion, I tend to believe that I am mature for my age. I recently graduated from law school and took the California bar exam, which means I am only just now emerging back into reality after three years of intense graduate education. I dunno what to say about my profile below. I'm just the kind of person that falls into the group of normal people and normal thinking. That doesn't mean anything negative though.. I'm just unique. Well let's see, I'll start with me being shy. Then I'll move on to my personality -----> INFJ. I look like a serious person, or a mad person, or a crazy scientist... but actually I'm a really nice guy with a realy awsome personality. I would describe myself as well balanced with a little bit of everything. I am not into sweets as much as I am into bold and strong tasting foods. For example, I enjoy a dark red wine 10x more than I enjoy a white wine. In fact, I rarely touch white wine. Maybe once a year? I love coffee too. My new favorite word is peachy. My days are almost peachy, my life is peachy, so on and so forth. Although I rarely eat peaches. :P Cute word though.

So I'm not a huge fan of talking about myself like this, but here goes. I'm a 25 year old guy living in Santa Cruz. I came here in 2001 for school and eventually graduated from UCSC in '06, and now I specialize in not using my degree at all.

I enjoy playing guitar, chilling with friends, hiking around Santa Cruz, and going to the beach, among other things. I've been playing disc golf for a while, and my buddy recently got me into stick-golf (i.e. real golf), but I do enjoy playing other sports besides golf variations. I also enjoy watching sports, and love all the bay area teams, but baseball and the Giants are my faves.

I graduated from BU this May, and now am in the real world. Lame. I'm going to be spending a few weeks in Fresno this winter, but most of the time I'm near Boston.

In Boston, I love walking around the city looking at what has changed. I always have my camera with me. It's not a very good camera, but it takes pictures quickly. I've been to almost every part of the Boston area and want to visit all the parts I've missed. I keep forgetting to go to Bay Village, even though I've been all around it. Yes, there is a neighborhood in Boston called Bay Village, it's near Back Bay and the south end.

In Fresno....well, there's not much to do. It is very flat though, which makes for fun bike rides. I can bike for miles, but even the slightest hill can dampen my trip.

I am a Doctoral student in Psychology so I am very busy at times. I say this up front because I think it gives an idea of how ambitious and career-oriented I am. Another telling fact about me... I grew up an hour outside of Chicago, lived in NYC for 2 years, and then moved here to Fresno. I can be very serious and intellectual at times and others I am goofy and care-free. I'm a people person. I am fairly outgoing and enjoy getting to know new people. My other passion is music. I have this contradiction about my interest in music in that I am interested in many different genres of music but I'm picky about which songs or artists I actually like. Something else that might be important to know about me... I used to party quite a bit have moved on and don't drink now. I am also an animal lover. I've developed a love for traveling. Just ask and I could tell you stories about the places I've been.

I am a student going to Fresno State, my major is Chemistry. Plan to go to Med School in a few years. Very outgoing and fun to be around. Serious when I need to be. Love to read, party, listen to music... There is a lot to know, let me know.

I love learning about almost anything, and spend most of my time doing that, even when I look like I'm doing something else entirely. I especially like to read about something then go see what it really is or trying out how an idea works in the real world (danger: amateur "science experiments" occasionally go very wrong but are always interesting...it is not a bad idea to be standing by with a fire extinguisher) I tend to work to much, mostly because I've loved every job I've ever had.

I definitely enjoy my time off and am working on building relationships with people who make me healthier and happier. I find my free time far more enjoyable when I have someone to share it with. I'm not very good at making friends but I believe I'm good at being a "real" friend once I get to know someone and am loyal well past the point of logic once I allow someone to become part of my life. I am the guy who would help a friend dispose of a body--the whole time trying to convince them "this is not the best way to handle this", unless it really is the best way to handle it!

Who is this Man called Charles? Sometimes I wonder myself. I waltz to my own tune for the most part. Fairly fascinating I like to think. But I would say that I am a fairly down to earth. I like where I live - but I long for a change of scene. Somewhere with better public transportation. I've gone from knowing my life, to being estranged from it!! From knowing myself to losing myself. That is something that I am working on.
